Heys final home game of 2024 sees them welcome Longridge Town to Adie Moran Park on Saturday (21st Dec) in the NW Counties Premier Division (2pm).
After last weekend’s Macron Cup exit to Ramsbottom, Heys are now clear to concentrate on the League and their battle to avoid relegation. If they are to succeed in doing so, then now is the time for them to start turning the corner. Heys are without a League win since 31st August and have thirteen points to make up on third bottom Squires Gate.
The Blackpool side visit Heys on January 4th with another side just above the relegation zone, South Liverpool also due to visit Prestwich next month. Tomorrow’s game starts what would appear to be a critical four week period that could make or break their hopes.
Longridge themselves are in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle after a difficult run of form that has seen them collect only two points from their last six matches. They picked up a vital point with an injury time equaliser at Colne last weekend with prolific Liam Atkinson, scorer of nineteen goals so far, on the mark.
In the form table Heys actually find themselves their visitors, with Heys third from bottom and Longridge second from bottom. Both sides will be viewing this game as a chance to rediscover that winning feeling.
