Heys head to Litherland Remyca tomorrow in the NW Counties Premier Division (3pm).
Even at this relatively early stage of the season this looks like an important game. The hosts are 20th in the table with eleven points from thirteen games whilst Heys sit one place lower with seven points from fifteen games.
From a Heys perspective they need a win. Having lost their last seven games, they are only outside of the relegation places on goal difference, but all the three teams below them have played a game less. A loss tomorrow would also see them go seven points adrift of the rest of the table. It seems imperative they return with something to show for their efforts. They will look to draw on the merits of their first half performance against Chadderton on Tuesday as they endeavour to collect the points.
Litherland had a torrid start to the season, failing to win any of their first nine games in all competitions, losing seven. However, they have picked up with a little run that saw them pick up ten points from six games before a 4-0 loss at Charnock Richard checked their progress. Heys will have to keep an eye on striker James Hammill who has scored twelve goals in twelve appearances so far this season.
