Heys make the short trip down the M60 on Monday night to face Stockport Town (7.45pm).
Although the season is still in its infancy this will be the second time the teams have met with Stockport winning 2-0 at Adie Moran Park only four weeks ago.
The hosts have made a good start to life in the Premier Division following their promotion in the Summer. They go into the game in twelfth place with Seventeen points from 12 games. After picking up fourteen of those points in their first seven matches it did seem that they had hit a wall when losing four games on the trot and scoring only one goal in the process. However, on Saturday, they came roaring back to winning ways to record a stunning 6-2 win at AFC Liverpool, a side who had put pre-season favourites Chadderton and Charnock Richard to the sword in their previous games.
The hosts will be looking to kick on tomorrow night against a Heys side who have suffered four successive defeats, whilst conceding eleven goals in the process. Whilst scoring goals has been an issue for Heys their earlier defensive resilience has wavered in recent matches, something they will be will need to rediscover if they are to succeed.
Although, it’s still early days in the season, recent results have meant Heys have slipped to twentieth in the table with Friday’s loss to Glossop seeing a four point gap opening between them and their victors, who sit one place higher. With games ahead against pacesetting Ramsbottom and Chadderton, they are in need of a morale boosting win at the Stockport Sports Village.
