Heys take the trip up the M66 to Padiham tomorrow in the NW Counties Premier Division (3pm).
After Tuesday’s home loss to FC Isle of Man, Heys will be hoping to bounce back and pick up three important points against a side who sit three places below them in the table in 19th with the same number of points (seven) but having played a game less. The game provides an opportunity for Heys to put a little distance between themselves and the other teams in the bottom half and possibly look upwards with their following two games against Burscough and Glossop also being teams immediately around them in the table.
Padiham were a surprise package last season as a strong second half of the season saw them reach the play offs. They have won just one of their first eight League games which has included heavy defeats away to early pacesetters Bury, Lower Breck and Ramsbottom. However, prior to their midweek loss at the latter, they had put together a five-match unbeaten run. There is no doubt their squad possesses plenty of talent and Heys know at first hand the abilities of Tyler James and Kieron Molloy.
This promises to be a hard-fought encounter as the two sides look to improve on slow starts to the season.
