Heys return to Adie Moran Park on Tuesday night as they welcome FC Isle of Man in the NW Counties Premier Division (7.45pm)
After Saturday’s morale boosting win at Squires Gate, Heys will be looking to make further progress up the table. The 1-0 win on the Coast ended a four-match losing streak and lifted Heys up to 14th in the table with seven points from eight games.
There was also plenty to admire in the performance with some good football allied to a tremendous work rate ensuring an important three points, something they will need to repeat if they are to prevail tomorrow night.
The visitors sit one place and one point above Heys in the table with eight points from eight games. Tomorrow’s game will be their sixth successive away game and their seventh of the season. Both their victories have come on the road however, winning 3-1 at Irlam and 2-1 at Litherland. They come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Colne at the weekend, which followed successive 2-1 defeat at Charnock Richard and Stockport Town.
A tight game looks in prospect with both sides looking to cement themselves in a solid mid table position at the start of a busy September that will help truly shape the look of the League table.
