Heys host Abbey Hey on Tuesday night in the NW Counties League Premier Division (7.45PM)
After Saturday's disappointing loss to Stockport Town, Heys will be looking to bounce back to winning ways. Following their impressive win at South Liverpool last midweek, they never looked like repeating that level of performance on Saturday and will be anxious to get points on the board against opponents who themselves have found the early weeks of the season challenging.
Abbey will come into the game with a spring in their step. They failed to win any of their first four games and suffered a 7-1 home loss to Bury last Tuesday. However, they showed great powers of recovery to pick up their first win with a 3-1 victory at Squires Gate on Saturday. Former Heys man Brad Sixsmith was amongst the goals and he is one of three ex-Heys players in the visitors squad with Josh Dicken and Kayle Power the others, the latter having transferred late last week. It might have been four players but Will Shawcross signed for New Mills at the weekend.
It's a big game for both teams. Both will be looking for three points to keep them ticking over in mid table and away from the bottom places amidst the difficulties of negotiating the early season fixture list.
