Heys will be looking to continue their push for a promotion play spot and they come into the game on the back of Thursday’s victory over Chadderton. That lifted them into fifth place in the table, level on points with the fourth placed Oldham side, who are a single goal better off on goal difference to Heys.
With Chaddy travelling to another of the play-off contenders in Kendal, Heys will be only too aware that this game represents a chance to improve their position with the finishing line coming into view.
Irlam are twelfth in the table 56 points from 42 games, having won, drawn and lost 14 games in equal amounts. They come into the game having drawn their last four, the most recent on Easter Monday at West Didsbury & Chorlton.
This will be the third meeting of the season between the clubs. Heys won 3-1 at Irlam in the Macron Cup in January, but four days later a late Kaiden Barlow equaliser denied them victory in a 1-1 League draw at Adie Moran Park.
