Heys welcome Lower Breck to Adie Moran Park on Saturday in the NW Counties League Premier Division. (3pm)

After successive postponements, Heys will be looking to get back into action in what is the first of three home League games in the next four over the Christmas period. They go into the match in fourth place in the table with 44 points from 23 games and will be looking for another three points here as they enter the second half of their League fixtures.

The Christmas and New Year period can prove a defining period in shaping how the rest of the season might unfold. After a slow start to the season Heys have lost only twice in their last sixteen League games taking 36 points in the process. With crunch games at Bury and Wythenshawe on the horizon these next few weeks could prove significant in Heys promotion challenge.

Lower Breck will start the day in eleventh position with 32 points from 24 games. There is almost a perfect symmetry in their playing record having won eight, drawn eight and lost eight with 43 goals scored and 44 conceded.

There is no doubt the Merseyside outfit are a dangerous side, and their eight wins include victories over League leaders Bury and third placed Chadderton. Being consistent has been their main issue but in recent weeks it looks like they are on the way to putting that right. They come into the game having suffered only defeat in the last six games and back-to-back victories over Skelmersdale and Longridge.

When the sides Met at the Anfield Sports Centre, at the end of September, Heys ran out 5-2 winners and they will be looking for another three points on Saturday to strengthen their position in the leading pack.
