Heys return to League action as they welcome Litherland Remyca to Adie Moran Park on Saturday (3pm).
It’s a quick turnaround in fixtures as its only just over three weeks ago that the sides met on Merseyside with Remyca winning a thrilling contest as a late goal gave them a 3-2 victory.
The visitors are having a fine season and go into the game in 9th place in the table with 32 points from 23 games as the progress they have made over the last couple of seasons under Colin McDonald continues. They do come into the game having lost all three of the matches they have played since their win over Heys. Only one of those came in the League, 3-2 away at Kendal. The other defeats came at home to Chadderton in the Macron Cup (3-4) and at Northern Premier League (NPL) Warrington Rylands (2-1) in the Liverpool Senior Cup.
Heys will start the day in fifth place with 38 points from 21 games and having suffered back-to-back defeats with the 3-0 loss at NPL side Lancaster City in the Lancashire Trophy on Tuesday night coming on the back of a 3-1 League defeat at Wythenshawe Town. Overall though Heys have suffered only two defeats in their last fifteen League games, and they will be looking to get back into another run as they commence a sequence of matches that sees seven of their next nine League games at home.
