Heys travel to Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday night looking to continue their climb up the NW Counties Premier Division table.
The 5-2 weekend win at Lower Breck was Heys fifth in a row in the League and has lifted them to the fringes of the play off pack. Lee O’Brien and James Hampson’s side are presently ninth in the table with 23 points from twelve games, that’s four points off the top five, but they do have between two and four games in hand on the teams presently occupying those positions. With this match the second of five in fourteen days the Heys bosses ‘will be looking to break into that pack.
However, Tuesday’s match looks a tough one. Barnoldswick will go into the game with similar thoughts to Heys. They sit in sixth place with 26 points from 13 games and will be looking to make the step into the top five with a victory on home soil.
In many ways Town have crept up the table, somewhat off the radar. They have only lost once in the League all season but with opening the season with a win and four draw draws they did not figure amongst the early pacesetters. However, over the last eight matches they have won six and drawn one, in amongst losing to Padiham. With Heys at home followed by Bury on Saturday and Kendal away the week after they will be looking to really make their mark in the top five over the coming fortnight.
Heys sit top of the form table with Barnoldswick third, it promises to be a cracker!
