It’s another Saturday away day this weekend but this time it’s only a short journey as Heys make the trip to Chadderton (3pm).
Lee O’Brien and James Hampson will be looking for their side to maintain their momentum. The recent heavy loss in the FA Cup at Workington, has somewhat detracted from the fact Heys have won six of their last eight games. In the League itself they have put together a run of three successive wins, since that Cup loss, that have seen eight goals scored and none conceded.
It’s a little run that has seen Heys move up to eleventh in the table with seventeen points from ten games, three points off the play off places and their hosts tomorrow, who sit fourth. Indeed, a win for Heys, due to their identical goal differences, would see them leapfrog Chadderton in the table.
Heys will have to be at their best though. Chaddy have adapted well to life in the Premier Division having taken 20 points from eleven games. They have recorded some eye-catching wins such as a 3-1 success at West Didsbury & Chorlton and the stunning 3-1 win over Bury at Gigg Lane. They briefly topped the table in the opening weeks of the season before a little dip in form that saw one point collected from games at home to Colne and Lower Breck and away at Wythenshawe Town. However, they bounced to winning ways in midweek with a 3-2 home win over Skelmersdale United.
The game will see Heys come up against some familiar faces in Krisel Prifti, Cory Knight and Jamie Sinnott, all of whom have had spells at Adie Moran Park in recent times.
