It’s another long haul away day for Heys tomorrow as they travel to FC Isle of Man in the North West Counties Premier Division.
After last weekend’s FA Cup trip to Workington, Lee O’Brien, James Hampson and the lads have clocked up some miles in the past week. They will be hoping this weekend’s trip will be more fruitful than last week as they seek valuable League points, looking to build on Tuesday night’s home win over Padiham.
Results elsewhere meant their victory made little difference to their League position but importantly it kept Heys, with games on hand on several of the teams above, in sight of the play off places. With eleven points from eight games, Heys are six points off fifth place and have two games in hand on Wythenshawe who presently occupy that slot.
The Ravens are a point off the play off places with sixteen points from ten games and sit in ninth place. After a strong finish to last season, they have continued their form in the current season. They have faltered a little in recent weeks, with just the one point from their last three matches, but that followed a four match winning streak. It’s also important to note that of their ten games, seven have been away, indeed their last six outings have all been on the road.
They return to the Bowl tomorrow for their first home game since the 12th of August. Their home outings so far have seen wins over Wythenshawe Town (2-0) and Padiham (2-1) either side of a 3-0 defeat to Litherland. After tomorrow, six of their next seven games are away so they will be mindful of picking up points and keeping in the mix for when the home games really kick in.
