Heys head to Squires Gate on Saturday looking to make further progress up the NW Counties Premier Division table.
After the opening day defeat to Burscough, the response by Heys has been good. Swashbuckling wins over Pilkington in the League and Bootle in the FA Cup were followed by a strong all-round display at Charnock Richard on Tuesday night. A hard-earned point and a clean sheet against a strong opponent demonstrated that Heys can do it tough too.
They will look to maintain their form on Saturday against an opponent who have proved a thorn in Heys side in previous meetings. Heys have collected only a point on their last two visits to the coast and were soundly beaten 5-2 last season.
Squires Gate have had a difficult start to the season and go into the game still looking for their first win. They lost 2-0 at home to Pilkington on the opening day before earning a point in a 1-1 draw at Charnock Richard. However, the latter defeated them 7-0 in the FA Cup last weekend, a setback that was followed by a 4-1 league defeat at Litherland REMYCA on Wednesday night.
