Heys penultimate League game of the season takes them to Merseyside on Easter Monday to face Lower Breck (3pm).
Thursday night’s victory over West Didsbury & Chorlton ended a run of four successive defeats and Heys will be looking to make it back-to-back wins. Already assured of their highest ever finish in the Non-League pyramid, they go into the game in sixth place with 66 points from 40 games. They are unlikely to finish any higher, with a six-point gap to fifth placed Northwich, but a strong finish could well ensure that top sixth birth, which would be a great achievement. Heys Managers Lee O’Brien and James Hampson will await fitness reports, following three games in six days last week, before finalising their squad. Omar Mbowe will be available again after suspension.
Lower Breck go into the game in 15th place with 43 points from 38 games after an up and down season. They won five of their first ten games but then lost four of their next five matches. Five wins in seven then lifted them into mid table. That was followed however by a run of just two wins between the start of November and January. They have picked up a couple of wins since but are now without a win in four games. That inconsistency must be of great frustration for Manager Gary Moore with eye catching wins away at West Didsbury & Chorlton (4-1) and home victories over Bury AFC (2-0) and Wythenshawe Town (4-0) highlighting their potential. With four games left they will have their eyes on a mid-table finish.
When the teams met at Adie Moran Park on Boxing Day a tight game was settled by a solitary Kai Haigh goal for Heys.
