Heys concluded their pre-season preparations with a 4-1 home defeat to National league North side Curzon Ashton last Saturday.

Prestwich acquitted themselves well and the final scoreline was harsh on them. An early penalty gave the visitors the lead, but Heys exchanged chances through the remainder of the half. However, in the final five minutes before the break, careless play led to an own goal before a close-range strike made it three nil at the break.

Heys slipped further behind midway through the second half, but they were rewarded for their endeavour with a late penalty scored by Dylan Fitzgerald.

Attention now turns to Saturdays opening game at Cheadle Town (3pm). The new look Heys will come up against a side who have also seen a change of Management and personnel in the Summer with Heys bosses Russell Saunders and Matty Russell hoping it will be their side that hits the ground running.
