Matt Jolly has stepped down as Manager of Heys Reserves.
After steering the team to a League and Cup double Matt wishes to spend more time with his young family.
He intends to remain with the club as a player where he will be free of the extra time and responsibility of running the team.
Matt oversaw a magnificent season in steering the Reserves to the Division Two title with a staggering 76 points whilst also lifting the Open Trophy.
For much of the season he ran the team on his own bringing additional pressures to those the role already brings.
It is was fact not lost on Jon Lyons, who in views shared by everyone at the club said " Running a team is a difficult job at the best of times but to do so on your own is a big task which Matt managed superbly.
" I could not have asked for a better manager than Matt. He has worked tirelessly all season, putting out a successful team, playing good football and the winning of the double speaks for itself"
" Matt also gave great support to me and the 1st team in both providing players and then giving others game time in his side throughout the season. I cannot thank him enough for all he has done and I am delighted that he is staying with us a player."
From everyone at the club - Well Done Matt and Thank You!
