Heys are set to share their ground next season with Northern Nomads.
Nomads were one of the country’s most famous amateur teams in the 60’s and were regular opponents of Heys in the Manchester League.
The teams also met in the FA Amateur Cup in 1961 with Nomads winning 3-2.
Heys Secretary Scott White said, “A group of enthusiasts, including several former players, decided to resurrect the grand old club, which folded in the mid-1980s, and approached us some time ago in their search for an initial base.”
“The decision was delayed until we could assess how well the pitch improvements had worked at Adie Moran Park and as this has been successful, we are now drawing up an agreement.”
“Nomads will play in the Manchester League, and have plans to find a home of their own in the near future, and we are pleased to be able to offer them a helping hand.”
